The Nest Thermostat helps you save energy. It can turn itself down when you leave the house, so you don’t waste energy heating or cooling an empty home. Right from the start, it helps you create an energy-efficient schedule. And with Savings Finder, it looks for ways to help you save even more.
Eco Temperatures: The Nest Thermostat can use sensors and your phone’s location to check if you’ve left the house. Then it can set itself to an Eco temperature to save energy when you're away.
Savings Finder: Savings Finder looks for more ways to save, and suggests tweaks to your schedule. You can accept the suggestions with a tap.
Control from Wherever You Are
With the Google Home app, you can control the Nest Thermostat from wherever you are – whether you’re on the couch or away from home. [1] Change the temperature, adjust your schedule, check your settings, and more. Or ask Google to change the temperature – just say, “Hey Google, turn up the heat.”[2][1] Remote control and mobile notifications require working internet and Wi-Fi. [2] Compatible devices required.

The Nest Thermostat works with 85% of 24V heating and cooling systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, and heat pumps with either forced air or radiant delivery.
The Nest Thermostat is designed to work if your home doesn’t have a common (“C”) wire. In some cases, particularly if you have a heating- or cooling-only system or use a zone controller, a C wire or other power-supply accessory may be necessary.
